Tuesday, April 30, 2013 - Light

This is the day that God has made. He is in every sunrise and in every cloud. The beauty of the sun is that it sends lifegiving light even when the clouds surround it. Our glorious God, more reliable than the sun, never ceases to shine His Light on us even through the darkest nights.

Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light." - johm 12:36

Monday, April 29, 2013 - Longing

Sometimes separation is the best tool to help us realize how much we depend on God's love. Just as God opens His arms to welcome the prodigal sun, we too, find His Grace when we return to Him in prayer. We must never let our regrets, pride, fear, or shame keep us from returning to our Loving One. Our journey may lead us away, but Hope will draw us back. Fall into the arms of your Hope and feed your soul with His Freeing Love.

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! - Luke 15:17

Friday, April 12, 2013 - Wisdom

Many times we find ourselves without the right words to say. More times than not, I think of the perfect response well after the conversation has ended with no chance of getting to express these thoughts to anyone. Yet, we can rest well knowing our true wisdom is simply following the direction of Christ. When we can truthfully say that we acted as Jesus would and set an example of His values and integrity, then we have given a greater message than words can ever convey.

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 11:1

Friday, April 5, 2013 - Fatigue

Do you ever have one of those days when your body is so full of aches and pains it seems your greatest accomplishment for the next 24 hours may be just getting out of bed? Although appealing, this is never a wise choice. The more we lay still the harder it becomes for us to move. Our spirits cry out in the same way. When we do not exercise our spirits by spending time with scripture, prayer, and stepping out in works of mercy and love, our spirits become dull. Atrophy slowy creeps into our being and clouds our responses to the call of God. Just as stretching our muscles sends energy and strength into our physical beings, stretching our spirits energizes the soul.

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. - Galations 6:9

Thursday, April 4, 2013 - Gift

Every act in life is commissioned by God. We are unable to take any breath, make any movement, or move forward in any capacity without the aid of God. No accomplishment is ever our own. We are given talent. This talent is a gift from God. Our purpose is to grow our talent and to use it in thanksgiving. A beautiful practice of any Christian, when showered with praise for a job well done, Is to graciously and simply say "thank you". May God be given all glory, honor, and praise.

With my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please. - Jeremiah 27:5

Monday, April 1, 2013 - Truth

There are two sides to every story. A just man will listen to both. But how do we know which person tells the truth? Made in the likeness of God, mankind has been graced with discernment. Deep within each of us lies a soul, directly connected to our creator. When we open our souls to the gift of discernment, we will find the truth and the truth will set us free.

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11
